Sir Peter Cosgrove

The College was honoured by a visit from Sir Peter Cosgrove. This opportunity to have arguably Australia's most recognized leader was given to the College by the Lords Taverners Geelong. The event celebrated the arrival of a new bowling machine donated to the college and Sir Peter, Lady Cosgrove and Earl Eddings Chair of Cricket Australia were on hand to see the first ball being bowled. While Sir Peter and guests, including Deputy Mayor Kylie Gryzbek and a raft of local leaders were on the Goldsworthy site they enjoyed an insight into the SEED program with students explaining to our visitors how they are benefiting from coaching. Sir Peter also took the opportunity to address all of the 2020 Year 12 Cohort just one week into their final year of schooling. Lastly our senior VCAL students put some of their practical learning skills and catered for our guests with home baked cakes and slices, fruit and a selection of Canapes to accompany the tea and codffee they served.

It was a wonderful day for all students who interacted with this great leader and outstanding Australian.
