Family Fun Day

On Saturday 22 April, the showers stopped just in time to let families from across our communities to come together for community connections. A Great Idea from Drummond Street Services led to a a request to use our Northern Bay Family Centre and NBC Early Learning Centre as a venue to connect with families from all of our local cultures especially refugees and migrants. . About 50 families took this opportunity to enjoy music, dance, face painting, sausage sizzle, international cakes, fancy balloons, bubbles and a jumping castle. All of these were great fun but the African drumming and the baby animal petting farm were also big successes. This was a wonderful event and many thanks to our own Narelle Langenberg (NBCELC) and Helen O'connor (Family Centre / BCYF) and their teams for this amazing effort as hosts. But of course the day only happened because of the commitment of Drummond Street Services to assist our local families. If you need Childcare call Narelle on 5224 9874. If you need LOCAL family support advice ideas or information call Helen on 5224 9792 and if you want to see how Drummond Street can assist you check out their website for parenting advice or any other of their services. http://ds.org.au/about/.
