Message from the Campus Principal

Ken Massari

Welcome to the Goldsworthy Years 9-12 Campus of Northern Bay College.

Learning on our senior secondary campus occurs through a variety of pathways and programs and is provided by teams of specialised, innovative staff.

A Year 9 curriculum supports students to maximise their learning and career pathways through school and community based inquiries. In 2017, we continue our Year 9 Hero’s Journey experience…a residential at the Staughton Vale Outdoor Education Centre. The program commenced with the 2014 cohort and has outstanding feedback from students and families.

Students in Years 10-12 engage in either a Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) pathway. In 2017 these studies take place in dedicated centres. The VCE Centre and the VCAL centre.

Students in Years 9-10 seeking a university pathway are supported through our ASPIRE program which is part of our School Centre for Teaching Excellence partnership with Deakin University. Across the campus, Individual Learning Programs, mentoring, scholarships, structured workplace learning and partnerships with professional and vocational services ensure that all students have the opportunity to realise their goals and dreams.

The Goldsworthy Campus, which has a proud history of providing award-winning Vocational Education and Training (VET), is host to the Geelong Industry Trade Training Centre (GITTC). This centre provides access to leading-edge VET programs

Our students value the opportunities to apply themselves in VCE, VCAL, School-based Apprenticeships and other Certificate courses as we tailor learning pathways to meet individual interests, skills and needs.

On behalf of our dedicated staff, I welcome you to make an appointment to view the breadth and quality of our senior secondary curriculum in action.
